Loving Exercise & Nutrition! (L.E.A.N)

Normally, we don't wait until our car falls apart before we repair them. We change the oil, tune up the engine and rotate the tires regularly. We spend more money on our cars than we spend on our emotional and physical health. L.E.A.N will help prepare yourself to learn how to move in a way that will reduce stress, build a strong body and give positive health outcomes. Have you ever done guided meditation while strengthening your core? You will with L.E.A.N.

Preventing Obesity

KT the Trainer is on a campaign to help alleviate childhood health issues, one meal, one walk, one run at a time. We here at Kids Turning Corners have partnered with his program, L.E.A.N to contribute to prevent childhood obesity. L.E.A.N offers an 8-Week Resistance & Cardiovascular Training Program that assures adolescents and young adults of all fitness levels receive the recommended amount of daily physical activity, including a weight training program tailored to the individual that will focus on improving muscular strength.

Physical Activity Is Key

Physical activity is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Just as important, so is our emotional and mental health. In combination with healthy eating, exercise and emotional wellbeing is the key to assuring that adolescents and young adults in are equipped to deal with everyday stressors and have healthy coping techniques that can replace unhealthy lifestyle choices. Having a strong body and mind can help prevent a range of chronic diseases, including the three leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, and stroke.

Physical activity promotes strong bodies and healthy development, while decreasing the risk of obesity. Children need 60 minutes of play with moderate to vigorous activity every day to grow up to a healthy weight. Adults aged 18–64 should do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity throughout the week or do at least 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity throughout the week or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity.

L.E.A.N will bring out maximum potential and provide feelings of security and confidence to both of these groups. L.E.A.N is designed to address the individual, including their physical, mental, and emotional needs, while still being attentive to students overall fitness necessities. A positive mindset is imperative to the success of an individual, and positive vibes is all you will feel while in the presence of KT! The long-term goal is to have active children, active families, active schools and active communities.

"To me it is about helping, I've always been a helper, sometimes to a fault, but I believe that caring and understanding, genuinely, will be how we change lives and help young people grow strong, physically and emotionally" - KT The Trainer (Certified)
